for a complex issue, I tend to believe his hypothesis is pretty much on the
mark given how much more added sugar is put into nearly EVERYTHING. Don't
believe me, start checking ingredient labels. I've been really surprised (&
appalled) at somethings that have had high-fructose syrup added when there
seemed to reason, other than to add volume for a higher profit on a
product. Does making something cost less in the short term make it a
responsible decision? I don't know, but not everyone knows enough to even
check and in today's world they may not care even if they do know just
because something is now 'cheap enough' that they can afford it.

Attia is a hypocrite. He gets weepy-eyed about insulin resistance when
there's SO much evidence linking high-fat and high-meat diets to IR, even
the Bellevue All Meat Trial where the men had prediabetic glucose
tolerance. He also promotes BCAA supplements when BCAAs have been linked to
IR as well via Christopher Newgard's studies. Put this sleazy fraud out of
business.

can i remind all of you we went 10 thousand years eating grain without
obesity or dementia being a problem? yes, modern strains of GM grain are
bad, but i would be more inclined to look at our obsession with synthetic
chemicals we have had for the last 90 years that we have no evolution to
protect us from rather than the food we have evolved to consume over the
last 10 thousand years. that said, the shift to grains caused problems, as
the shift to synthetics and GM will cause problems, but at the end of the
day, more food wins out every time, and it wont stop for you today with an
exploding global middle class population.

As far as I know, the most thoroughly and timetested diet (2+ million
years) is/was the pre-agricultural/hunter-gatherer one, which consists of

Thank you Dr. Attia. I think a lot of doctors judge, believing they have
the answers and that their patients are ignorant. I've had to fight my
doctor on the cholesterol issue for several years now. With my current
medical insurance I must comply with their suggestions to keep a lower
premium and better coverage and their standard advice is to eat low fat,
little or no sat fat and a plant based diet. I don't comply because I
believe they are wrong. Why? Eating that way is how I ended up fat with
very high cholesterol.
