Congrats! How is that going for you? I am currently thinking about
returning back to school and finish the Dental Assistant Program. I only
have 5 weeks left!

This is a very stressful job. Sadly a lot of girls are misinformed. I
worked with some alright dentists but one bitch ultimately ruined it for
me. She was bipolar and nothing was good enough for her. She would
constantly degrade and dehumanise me. Oh my god the suctioning was
ridiciculous. She couldnt keep her hands to herself..always wanting to hold
it moving it just a mm. This job is not what it seems. Its very easy to
cross that line between DA and a rundown servant.

I just finished my schooling for DA about 2 weeks ago, but im having a very
hard time getting a job:( Every dental practice that has an opening always
wants a DA with 2-3 years experience. How am I suppose to get experience if
no one will give me a chance!!!

It is true, i am going to be taking the DA program and the instructor told
me that it is not required to have any training to be a DA. You could work
at Mcdonalds one day and the next working as a DA. Guess it depends on the
dentist.

@ aDescarrega, the paitient should wear saftey glasses in case the dentist
accidentally drops a sharp instrument in their eyes or in case someing
flies out of the patients mouth into their eye. I have had a few close
calls over the past 2 years i have been assisting. One time a dental wedge
popped out and landed on top of their safety glasses. If they weren’t
wearing glasses… that woulda sucked for them! And us!
